White House Stables

This photograph shows the White House Stables in 1900. This High Victorian mansard-roofed structure is the ultimate version of the White House Stables before they were demolished in 1911. This stable was built during the Ulysses S. Grant administration in 1871 and President Benjamin Harrison expanded it in 1891.
